I plan on completing a couple mini juice feasts this year but up until recently I was lacking a major ingredient to juice making. A juicer.
Over the weekend I pondered my whole “blender + fruit & veggies + nut milk bag = juice” idea (this was my original plan), and it began to seem quite ridiculous, so I purchased a juicer. I can be a very lazy girl in the morning, and goodness knows I wouldn’t have been waking up earlier to squeeze blended up fruit through a piece of cloth. No. Freaking. Way.
I have a feeling it will take all my will power and determination just to not end up like the wonderful Amir of Jake & Amir/ College Humor fame.
*Face full of chips* I was starving! Amir, I ♥ you.

She’s finally mine! Meet my beautiful, shiny, light and speedy Diana!
After months of researching, designing and saving I finally have a bike that makes getting around in San Francisco fun, easy and amazing.
I designed her but I owe the creation of this lovely two wheeler to Wesley at American Cyclery. I went to a few bike shops and talked to a lot of people here in the city before I found someone that would listen to what I actually wanted and not try to force feed me an unattractive road bike. She’s custom and just what I had in mind. Thanks so much Wesley!!
With the purchase of Diana has come a desire to boost my bike knowledge, safety and a general desire to make commuting by bike easier. I’ve been spending a whole lot of time on the internet immersing myself in all things two wheels and making plans. A few of my favorite bike related sites?
With the change in my outlook towards biking you would think I haven’t been riding some sort of bike here in the city for almost 3 years. I guess new bikes can do that to you.
So, with the summer months drawing ever so closer, do you plan on getting out there and riding a bike? I so recommend it!

Without music life would be a mistake. ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
I am rarely introduced to new music by people anymore. Especially not at work. No one has ever come up to the front desk and said “Audrey have you heard this amazing song by so and so?!? It will fricken change your life!” No, it’s all “When are you going to be finished with those evacuation plans, where is the yellow paper, and why don’t you have candy at your desk?”
Another thing adding to the decline in my new music discoveries? I no longer have a 2 hour commute to and from school or drive a car, so listening to the radio is incredibly rare. I don’t even know what radio stations in San Francisco are considered the good ones.
It is for this reason I have decided to set a goal to discover 1 amazing band every month for the next 2 or so years. 1 isn’t a lot, I know, but I find I am not impressed by most of the new music I do happen to run across, so 1 is a good amount for me.
I read a couple music blogs which I will start paying more attention to, I’ll start checking my last.fm recommendations more often, and hopefully I’ll get some commendations from all the lovelies who swing by bE.
So, with that, I was introduced to a new band in March by J♥ that I absolutely adore. Born Ruffians is their name, and Canadian Indie Rock is their game.
These boys hail from Midland, Ontario and have apparently been around since 2006 with the release of their self titled debut EP, but it’s their 2008 release “Red Yellow & Blue“ that has drawn me into their simultaneously calming and energizing world of harmonicas, guitars and group sing-along feel. It makes me want to eat ice cream, ride my bike, jump in a pool and lay in the sun all at one time. Check them out!
